DarkGate Malware Exploits Recently Patched Microsoft Flaw in Zero-Day Attack

A recent malware campaign known as DarkGate has been observed exploiting a recently patched security flaw in Microsoft Windows, using it as a zero-day attack through bogus software installers. The campaign lured users with PDFs containing Google DoubleClick Digital Marketing (DDM) open redirects, leading them to compromised sites hosting the Microsoft Windows SmartScreen bypass.
