Google to Delete Billions of Browsing Records in ‘Incognito Mode’ Privacy Lawsuit Settlement

Google has decided to erase billions of data records that depict users’ browsing activities to resolve a class action lawsuit accusing the company of tracking them without their permission in its Chrome browser.

The lawsuit, filed in 2020, claimed that Google misled users by tracking their internet browsing activity even when they believed it was private while using the ‘Incognito Mode’ feature.
