Google’s New Tracking Protection in Chrome Blocks Third-Party Cookies

Google has announced that it will start testing a new feature called ‘Tracking Protection’ in Chrome, aimed at limiting cross-site tracking by restricting website access to third-party cookies. This move is part of Google’s efforts to deprecate third-party cookies in the web browser. The feature will be available to 1% of Chrome users starting January 4, 2024.

Anthony Chavez, vice president of Privacy at Google, explained that this setting is designed to enhance user privacy and security online.
