New “GoFetch” Vulnerability in Apple M-Series Chips Leaks Secret Encryption Keys

Nathan Zych |

A new security vulnerability has been discovered in Apple M-series chips. Dubbed GoFetch, the vulnerability takes advantage of a microarchitectural side-channel attack to extract secret keys used during cryptographic operations. The vulnerability exploits a feature known as data memory-dependent prefetcher (DMP) to capture sensitive data from constant-time cryptographic implementations.
