New Intel CPU Vulnerability ‘Indirector’ Exposes Sensitive Data

A new side-channel attack, codenamed ‘Indirector,’ has been discovered by security researchers, posing a potential threat to modern Intel CPUs such as Raptor Lake and Alder Lake. The vulnerability, identified in the Indirect Branch Predictor (IBP) and the Branch Target Buffer (BTB), could be exploited to leak sensitive information from the processors. Security researchers Luyi Li, Hosein Yavarzadeh, and Dean Tullsen revealed the shortcomings within Intel CPUs, raising concerns about data confidentiality.
