New Spectre-Style ‘Pathfinder’ Attack Targets Intel CPU, Leak Encryption Keys and Data

Researchers have uncovered two new attack methods that target powerful Intel CPUs and could be used to execute a key recovery attack against the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) algorithm. A group of academics from the University of California San Diego, Purdue University, and UNC Chapel have collectively termed the techniques as ‘Pathfinder.’
